The Ghosts of America's Past, Present and Future

Republican Patrick J. Buchanan describes how Orwellian revisionist historians have turned American hearts and minds against their nation's glorious past. Democrat Richard Lamm describes the current efforts to destroy America's future. Meanwhile, our most un-American of presidents continually derides and diminishes our nation's present.

A republic, ma'am, if you can keep it

The words "democracy" or "democratic" appear 34 times in the constitution of the People's Republic of China. How many times do they appear in the U.S. Constitution? Or in the constitutions of the 50 states? (The reader will note that GOD is referenced in ALL 50 state constitutions! Take that, ACLU!)

And what does this have to do with the death of Antoine Lavoisier, the "father" of modern chemistry?

The Minority Report

This is very bad.

Now the federal government deigns to detain people indefinitely for what they
might do? Even though they have served their time and have not committed additional crimes?

Isn't this the same as punishing people before they commit crimes (a la Minority Report)?

And, to think, as Solicitor General, current Supreme Court-nominee Elena Kagan sucessfully argued the government's case before the Supreme Court!

This is a very bad precedent indeed.

Edit: John Stossel reminds us that the government has been stealing innocent people's stuff for years. Government agents claim they have the right to confiscate property they
think has been or may be used in a crime and keep it? even if the legal owner is never convicted?

Now
that's criminal.

I tell you, folks, our government is becoming a criminal enterprise.

Doing the Marxist revolutionary labor real Americans won't do

My favorite thinker, Theordore Beale (aka Vox Day), has this to say about changing American demographics.

On a side note, it is disturbing that, not only is this incoherent, racist demagogue given access to our kids, but we are paying him to spout his anti-American, hateful nonsense! That we allow him to inflame the passions of race and class warfare among his ignorant underlings is one thing; but that he appeals to the likes of mass murderers, tyrants and thugs like Che Guevara, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez is phantasmagoria beyond the pale.

How is "la revolucion" working out for Venezuelans, Cubans or Mexicans? No wonder billions of people want to move here! Invidious hate-mongers like this moron have made hellholes of every place they've preached the gospel of social justice.

5th the new 4th?

How "anti-American" are public schools? Five youths were told to take off their shirts or risk suspension for wearing American flags on Cinco de Mayo day. School administrators claimed the flags disrespected Mexicans and incited violence.
"I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day," Annicia Nunez, a Live Oak High student, said. "We don't deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn't do that on Fourth of July."
As for an apology, the boys and their families say, "fat chance."
"I'm not going to apologize. I did nothing wrong," Galli said. "I went along with my normal day. I might have worn an American flag, but I'm an American and I'm proud to be an American."
The American school system – run by liberal elitists, socialists and, more often than not, "useful idiots" (as Marx called them) – has effectively overthrown American culture, first turning our children against God, then capitalism, and now even America herself.

EDIT: Of course, you knew this was coming. The next step will be to ban the American flag altogether -- in the name of "liberty and justice for all".

Just say "No!" to school

John Taylor Gatto wrote an essay decrying our modern school system:
"It only takes about 50 contact hours to transmit basic literacy and math skills well enough that kids can be self-teachers from then on. The cry for "basic skills" practice is a smokescreen behind which schools pre-empt the time of children for twelve years and teach them the six lessons I've just taught you....
Institutional schoolteachers are destructive to children's development. Nobody survives the Six-Lesson Curriculum unscathed, not even the instructors. The method is deeply and profoundly anti-educational. No tinkering will fix it. In one of the great ironies of human affairs, the massive rethinking that schools require would cost so much less than we are spending now that it is not likely to happen. First and foremost, the business I am in is a jobs project and a contract-letting agency. We cannot afford to save money, not even to help children."
How do you "fix" something that works precisely as planned?
